While the economy of Shikoku is globalized, it is requested to strengthen the international competiveness of the industries in Shikoku. It is necessary for such a purpose to establish a smooth and efficient international physical distribution network between Shikoku and the countries, for example, in East Asia which have achieved economic development rapidly. In the meantime, “Shikoku International Physical Distribution Strategy Team” consisted of the personnel from the industrial, academic and official communities was inaugurated in 2006. To start with the 1st Meeting of Directors held in March 2006, “Strategic Proposals” was summarized in March 2007 through the meetings by working groups and the meetings at the headquarters.
