Port of Tokushimakomatsushima

Port of Tokushimakomatsushima is an important port consisted of Tokushima Port Area with Tokushima City as the center of economy and culture of Tokushima Prefecture in the backland, and Komatsushima Port Area with Komatsushima City in the backland.
Tokushima Port Area is a port to supply forestry products (raw wood) as the raw materials of timber-related companies situated in the seaside areas, where the services of ferry boats connecting the capital region and Kinki Area are available. Piers, etc. are being constructed currently at Okisu (outer) Area to accept bigger ships and deal with the maritime transportation of emergency goods and others in the event of large-scale earthquake.
Komatsushima Port Area is a port to supply forestry products (timber chips) as the raw materials for the paper manufacturing industry located in the backland, where the time services of international container seaway connecting with Pusan as a site of foreign trade for Tokushima Prefecture are available.
