Port of Tachibana

Port of Tachibana is a good natural port in Tachibana Bay located in the east part of Tokushima Prefecture. In early years of Showa, the port thrived as a relay port on Hanshin-to-Kochi seaway, and the development of industrial sites was promoted in years from 1953 till 1959, where Anan Thermal Power Plant of Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. was constructed in 1959. Additionally, the constructions of Tachibana Power Plant of Shikoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and Tachibana Thermal Power Plant of
J-Power were started in 1995, and the operations were started in 2000.
At the port, currently, coal for power generation is imported, and the cargos are carried in and out; cargos of gravel, sand, heavy oil and lime stone handled by the companies located at the coastal areas. (Port Administrator: Tokushima Prefecture)
