Port of Sukumowan

Port of Sukumowan, located in the south-western part of Shikoku, is the result of integrating Katashima Port with Kozukushi Port and was designated as a important port in 1986.
At Katashima Area, the services of periodical ferry boat to Saeki Port (Oita Prefecture), alone in Kochi Prefecture, are available, and the area also plays the role of supporting the cargo transportation between Kyushu and South Shikoku. Periodical ferry boat to Okino Shima (only one populated and isolated island in Kochi Prefecture) is also available, providing a critical seaway in the life of island people.
Ikejima Area started a temporary and partial service of the -13 m pier in December 2000 as a pier for -10 m, where large cruise ships are seen. A ship-building company came into the industrial distribution park in the backland in 2007, and engages in the manufacturing and delivery of ship body blocks. Currently, to maintain the stillness of existing pier, construction of an embankment is under way. (Port Administrator: Kochi Prefecture)
