Okuna Fairway

Okuna Fairway, a small-scale fairway opened by an individual in Taisho Era, once had only the depth of 1.2 m in the deepest part, and width of 8 m or so. Fishery thrived in this area, above all, and dangers were caused by more than one fishing boat passing nearby. As the countermeasures, water depth was increased, and the mouth of fairway was widened in years 1979 through 1980 in a development project. Currently, the fairway is maintained well.
